Hungry for the weekend? Of course you are. The good news is that we have a couple of fun food and drink events in Washington, D.C. over the next few weekends which you can add to the calendar.
Drink up.
First is Drink the District. It takes this Saturday, July 26th, and it’s your literally your ticket to as much beer as you can handle.
The 3rd annual events features pours of more than 75 beers. You’ll also find food trucks, music, games, activities, and all other kinds of good stuff.
Drink the District is located at 500 New York Avenue, right near Union Market. For $40, you can either attend the 1-4 pm session, and plan for a nice afternoon nap, or kick the night off with a bang from 6-9 pm.

If you attend the afternoon session of Drink The District, and want to keep the good times going, then head straight down to Union Market for their Drive-In Movie series. This Saturday, it’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. You can walk up and watch for free, or drive in for $10/car.
Movie starts at 8:15, but fun and food gets going at 6pm, and you’ll find all of the Union Market vendors you know and love serving up snacks.

Appetite – A Gastronomic Experience, takes place next weekend, August 1st and 2nd, at Strathmore, with special guests Andrew Zimmerman and Giada De Laurentiis.
Half a dozen food trucks will be on hand, along with a number of musicians, and plenty of local restaurants and vendors serving up snacks and libations. Everything available is included with your ticket price.
On Friday night, there’s a happy hour session at 5pm, followed by Giada at 7pm. On Saturday, events last from 11am to 7:15pm, with a happy hour at 5pm, and Zimmerman at 7:30pm.
There are a variety of ticket packages available, depending on whether you want to see Zimmerman, Giada, both, or neither, as well as when you plan on attending.
